Police vs Ingleby Greenhow

Northallerton Police entertained Ingleby Greenhow in this Division 1 fixure.

Police got off to a great start after 2 mins when Sam Vernalls corner was beaten out by the keeper to Police captain Mark Chisholm who controlled the ball and drove a fine cross shot from the right of the area into goal from 15 yds.

After 10mins Police were 2-0 up when Ian Rayner scored the goal of the game. He won the ball just inside the Ingleby half and beat 4 men before rounding the keeper and shooting into an empty net.

Ingleby hit back after 13 mins and only a fine save by Simon Caukwell prevented Jonny Hales from equalising as Caukwell turned his cross shot for a corner. Two mins later Hales burst through on the right and his the bar with a fine shot.

Police hit back and after 18mins Rayner put Vernalls through and he made no mistake from 18yds.

Ingleby hit back after 20mins when another fine effort by Hales hit the cross bar.

After 23mins Police increased there lead to 4-0 when Richard Sykes broke down the left wing and crossed to Adam Bramley who passed to Vernalls who made no mistake from 6 yds.

Two mins later it was 5-0 when a Jonny Coombs free kick from well in his own half found Bramley who placed a fine first time lob over the advancing keeper from 25 yards.

After 34mins it was 6-0 when Bramley put Coombs through for him to beat the keeper from 18yds.

After 38mins Coombs scored his 2nd when Vernalls put him through and he made no mistake from 10yds.

Ingleby hit back in the 2nd half but couldn't prevent police increasing their lead after 65mins when interpassing between Coombs and Vernalls ended with Vernalls setting up Bramley to score from 6 yds.

After 71mins it was 9-0 when Sykes passed to Vernalls who set up Bramley and he scored from 15yds to complete his hat trick.

Curt Tasker completed the scoring after 84mins when he was put through on the right and placed a fine lob over the keeper from 25yds.

Mark Cooper took the man of the match award for Ingleby with Ian Rayner getting the award for the Police.
