Ossy vs Police

This division one game was originally scheduled  to be played at Newby Wiske but due to the Police pitch being unfit it was transferred to Fleurs field, Osmotherley.

Police took the lead after 11mins when they were awarded a free kick outside the Osmotherley penalty area.  Ian Rayner took the kick and placed his shot into the corner of the net from 20 yards.

Three mins later Police went 2-0 up when Curt Tasker put Chris Pattison through on the right and his low hard cross across the six yard box was converted by Adam Bramley at the far post.

Police continued to press forward and after 30mins Bramley and Sam Vernalls combined for Vernalls shot to be well saved by Carl Smith.

Four mins later Osmotherley missed a great chance to pull a goal back when David Howe shot wide with only the keeper to beat. Two mins later Police were 3-0 up when Bramley put Vernalls through.  He rode a strong challenge before shooting home from 15 yards.

Three mins later Police scored the goal of the game when a fine passing move between Rayner and Tasker resulted in Neil Duffy playing a 1-2 on the left with Simon Caukwell before shooting home with a strong cross short from 15 yards.

After 42 mins Osmotherley missed another good chance to reduce the arrears when a cross from the left should have been converted by Howe.

At the start of the second half Osmotherley put Police under pressure but were unable to create any clear cut chances and after 55 mins Police increased their lead when Chris Walker put Adam Bramley through and he beat two men before shooting past Smith.

After 64mins a defensive error let in Robbie Anderson who made no mistake from 15yards for Osmotherley to reduce the arrears.

After 73 mins Police keeper Kirk Fletcher made a fine full length save from Howe to prevent them from reducing the arrears.

In the 92nd minute Police made it 6-1 when Duffy put Bramley through and he made no mistake from 15 yards.

Man of the match award went to Neil Duffy for the Police and Lee Cort for Osmotherley.
