Stowesley vs Police Northallerton Police travelled to Stokesley in this Division 1 fixture. Stokesley got off to a great start and were 1-0 up after five minutes when a corner was only partly cleared by the Police defence and Craig Hutton made no mistake from 6 yards. Police hit back but were unable to create any clear cut chances even though they had much of the play. Stokesley went 2-0 up after 36mins when a free kick was not cleared and this time John Bishop made no mistake from inside the six yard area. Police put on the pressure in the second half and after 71 mins Stokesley keeper Ian Mark made a fine save from an Ian Rayner 25 yard shot and turned it for a corner. Four minutes later they pulled one back when a Rayner free kick was saved but not held by Mark and Adam Bramley scored from the rebound. Police pressed for an equaliser and were caught on the break after 88mins and Hutton scored his second of the game from 8 yds to give Stokesley a deserved 3-1 win. Man of the match for Stokesley was James Allsop with Nigel Pepper taking the award for the Police.
