Unison vs Police Police travelled to the Bluestone ground, Northallerton to take on North Yorks Unison in this local derby first division fixture. There had been an overnight frost, however, referee Martin Coombs inspected the pitch and decided the game should go ahead. North Yorks Unison started the better of the two teams and Police keeper Kirk Fletcher was called into action twice in the first ten minutes tipping a shot from Michael Robinson over the bar. After twenty minutes Robinson was through on the left but his 15yard shot was well held by Fletcher. Police hit back two mins later when Mark Chisholm headed a Sam Vernalls corner towards goal and Simon Dodsworth cleared it off the line. Unison took the lead after 28mins when Robinson put Matthew Hill through on the left and he beat Fletcher with a low cross shot from 12 yards. Unison started the second half strongly and were camped in the Police half for long periods without creating any chances. Police were restricted to breakaways. After 67mins Unison increased their lead when Hill played a one two with Robinson on the left and fired in a low cross shot from 10yards which Fletcher dived full length to save but couldn't prevent the ball crossing the line. Ten minutes later Unison went 3-0 up when a Mark Raw cross from the right was tucked into the corner of the net at the far post from 10yards by Hill for him to complete his hat trick. With four minutes to go Police had a good chance to reduce the arrears when Adam Bramley was through on the left but his cross shot from 12yards went wide of the far post. Matthew Hill took the man of the match award for Unison with Kirk Fletcher taking the award for the Police.
